The Nigerian Army has officially announced the commencement of its 2025 recruitment exercise, with the registration period set to run from March 31 to May 7. Interested applicants are invited to apply through the Army’s designated recruitment portal.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, candidates must be single Nigerian citizens by birth and must provide valid identification, including a National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).

Applicants must also meet the Army’s medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards. Individuals with a criminal record or past convictions will not be considered.

Educational and Age Requirements

Candidates must have at least four subject passes, including English Language, in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB. Those applying as tradesmen or tradeswomen must also present a valid trade test certificate.

Additionally, applicants must submit a valid birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission, a hospital, or their local government, along with a certificate of state of origin.

Non-trades applicants must be between 18 and 22 years old, while tradesmen and tradeswomen must be between 18 and 26 years old. Height requirements stand at a minimum of 1.68 meters for male candidates and 1.65 meters for female candidates.

Recruitment Process and Guidelines

The Nigerian Army has emphasized that the recruitment process is completely free of charge. Candidates are warned against making payments to any individuals or groups promising to influence the selection process.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to participate in a screening exercise scheduled from June 2 to June 19, 2025, at designated centers within their respective states of origin.

To ensure transparency, all submitted documents will be thoroughly verified. Any applicant found to have submitted falsified documents will face legal prosecution.

The Army also clarified that no pre-selection computer-based test will be conducted. Instead, all shortlisted candidates must attend a physical screening exercise.
