MTN Foundation Scholarships 2024 for Nigerian Scholars

The Top 10 UTME Scholarship is granted regardless of the candidates’ chosen field of study or the type of Nigerian tertiary institution—public or private—they attend.

Eligibility Requirements
The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) and the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) are available to Nigerian students enrolled in public tertiary institutions in Nigeria, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Beginning in 2024, the number of scholarships for blind students will increase from 60 to 100. Additionally, the annual scholarship amount will rise from N200,000 to N300,000 and will be awarded annually until graduation, provided the academic requirements are met.

Course of Study
The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is designed for 300-level students pursuing science and technology courses at Nigerian public tertiary institutions. The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is available to 200 and 300-level blind students studying any discipline at these institutions.

Level of Study
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
Eligible applicants are those who have completed their second-semester 200-level exams and are progressing to the 300 level, as well as those currently in the 300 level, acknowledging the variations in academic calendars across public institutions.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
Applications are open to 200 and 300-level blind students at Nigerian public tertiary institutions. However, for blind students enrolled in Law, a five-year program, only 300-level students are eligible to apply.

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
STEM students at public universities and colleges of education must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper division).
STEM students at public polytechnics must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have been admitted into the Higher National Diploma (HND) program.
Direct entry-level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the OND program and must have gained admission into the 300 level/third year in a public university.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
Blind students at universities or colleges of education must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
Blind students at public polytechnics need a minimum CGPA of 2.0 from the OND program and must have been admitted into the HND program.
