About the Role

As a Know Your Customer (KYC) Operations Analyst at Flutterwave, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance with both regulatory requirements and internal policies. Your responsibilities will include conducting due diligence on new and existing clients, analyzing customer information, and mitigating risks. Primary Responsibilities

  • Customer Due Diligence (CDD): Perform comprehensive KYC checks on prospective and existing clients to evaluate their risk levels and adherence to regulations.
  • Document Verification: Verify the authenticity and accuracy of customer-provided documents, including identification, legal documents, and financial statements.
  • Risk Assessment: Use appropriate tools to analyze and assign risk ratings based on customers’ business activities, geographic locations, and other relevant criteria.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure alignment with company policies and local and international regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) laws.
  • Alert Management: Investigate and resolve alerts triggered by the KYC system, escalating issues to the KYC Operations Manager when necessary.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of KYC activities and findings.
  • Training and Updates: Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry standards, while participating in training to strengthen KYC expertise.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with teams in Compliance, Legal, and Customer Service to streamline customer onboarding and KYC processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine reviews of KYC files to verify accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Data Protection: Safeguard customer and business-related personal data in accordance with data privacy laws and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 2–4 years of experience in KYC or Customer Due Diligence roles.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment and deliver results efficiently.
  • Proven capacity to manage multiple tasks autonomously while prioritizing effectively.
  • Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, such as AML and CTF guidelines, is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications like Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) are a plus, or a willingness to pursue such certifications.
