Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented VISA International Settlement Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily settlement of VISA International transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing financial transactions for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Settlement: Oversee the daily settlement of VISA International acquired and issuing transactions, including merchant refunds and issuer/acquirer chargebacks for VISA credit customers.
- Card Type Settlements: Process international NOU transactions for VISA credit cards, VISA prepaid cards (NGN & USD), and VISA Gold cards.
- Third-Party Coordination: Liaise with Emerging Market Payments (EMP) and Unified Payments Services Limited (UPSL) to resolve any exceptions arising from daily settlement files.
- Billing and Processing: Collaborate with the E-business department to review and process VISA International’s monthly billing, covering training costs, issuer fees, acquirer fees, and other charges.
- Reporting & Reconciliation: Utilize VSS reports (110, 120, 210, and 300) to analyze settlement values and allocate them into appropriate settlement and subsidiary accounts.
- Offshore Account Management: Reconcile VISA credit card offshore transactions to determine reimbursement amounts, ensuring accurate funding of offshore accounts.
- Instruction & Coordination: Prepare schedules and instructions for the corporate loans and treasury departments to facilitate reimbursements of the offshore VISA Settlement Account with SCB NY.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and resolve discrepancies in domiciliary accounts related to VISA International transactions.
- Account Monitoring: Ensure the VISA Settlement Account with SCB NY is sufficiently funded to cover daily net settlement amounts.
- Currency Conversion: Advise treasury on the exchange rate for VISA AC currency conversion to facilitate the purchase of dollars and proper accounting of the naira equivalent.
- POS Merchant Settlements: Process settlement payments for merchants conducting transactions through VISA-acquired POS terminals.
- Information Security Compliance: Adhere to the bank’s information security policies to maintain the confidentiality and security of financial data.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a numerate discipline.
- Skills & Experience:
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with electronic banking products.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving financial technologies.
