Job Overview
As a Field Credit Officer, you will play a crucial role in onboarding and managing businesses that utilize our credit products. Your primary responsibilities will include growing a profitable loan portfolio by ensuring timely repayment of loans and evaluating businesses during the credit application process. Utilizing our advanced tools, you will monitor business performance throughout the loan cycle.
In this role, you will assess creditworthiness based on the 5Cs of credit, with a focus on capacity, character, and capital. You will also provide recommendations to management before, during, and after loan disbursement, considering economic and business factors.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and onboard eligible businesses within your assigned area to open accounts with Moniepoint.
- Engage customers to ensure active account usage, enabling them to qualify for credit access.
- Analyze loan requests by reviewing and interpreting available data to approve or decline applications.
- Conduct physical visits to borrowers’ business premises to evaluate operations, review business records, and assess inventory and turnover.
- Achieve gross loan portfolio and profitability targets while maintaining high-performing loans in your portfolio.
- Monitor active loans to ensure continuous account usage and repayment compliance.
- Perform additional credit-related tasks as directed by your supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum OND in a business-related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in a sales role involving credit products within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment.
- Proficiency in financial analysis is a plus.
- Residency in Enugu is required.
