This initiative unites founders from Sub-Saharan Africa to tackle climate challenges in areas such as Renewable Energy, Green Building, Climate Data, Agriculture, WaterTech, and Blue Economy. The Africa Climate Fellowship, supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the U.S. State Department’s Office of Global Partnerships, offers training, resources, and in-person residencies in Washington, DC, and Nairobi, Kenya.
Program Overview:
Cohort of up to 10 ventures addressing climate issues.
Training covers product-market fit, investment readiness, and leadership.
Program structure includes virtual and in-person sessions.
Eligible startups must be for-profit, based in/subserving Sub-Saharan Africa, have a scalable Minimum Viable Product, and align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Evaluation criteria include Impact, Scalability, Innovation, and Talent.
