JOINT JAPAN/WORLD BANK GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2024 (WINDOW 2) FOR DEVELOPING COUNTRIES NATIONALS (FULLY FUNDED)

Portals are opened for the application of the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Programme. The JJ/WBGSP is open to citizens of selected developing countries with professional experience and a landmark of rendering support to their country’s efforts with the intent of applying for master’s degree programme in a development concerned topic.
Eligibility and Requirements
The developing countries nationals must compulsorily possess the following to be certified eligible for the scholarship programme:
*Not possess dual citizenship of any developed country
*Must be in good health
*Possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent bagged at least three years prior to the application deadline.
*Must be an employee of a paid development-related work as at the time of submission of the application.
*Have a minimum of three years of paid development-related employment since the earning of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent university degree which must be acquired within the past six years from the date of the application deadline.
Benefits
Recipients of the JJ/WBGSP scholarship are provided with the following benefits:
*An economy flight between home country and host university to commence the study programme and immediately through the end of the scholarship period.
*Aside the two-way flight, scholars will also receive a token of $600 travel allowance on each trip.
*The cost of basic medical insurance and graduate programme fee shall be obtained through the university.
*A monthly allowance that will account for all the living expenses (accommodation, food, books etc) while on campus will be disbursed. The amount of allowances however differs across counties.
It is imperative to note that all JJ/WBGSP scholarships cover the duration of the graduate programme.
The scholarship however does not account for the following:
*The cost of visa application
*Expenses incurred in bringing a scholar’s family/relative.
*Extracurricular training
** Courses that lack the required credits needed to secure the graduate degree
*The graduate programme will not make provision for language training.
*Extra travel expenses during the course of the study programme
*Research related expenses, supplementary educational resources, field trips, participants in workshops, seminars, internship or educational facilities such as the computer system.
*Fee for resident permit
Application Requirements
*Applicants are required to submit one application online.
*All forwarded applications will be accepted and perused electronically by the W2 application deadline: May 24, 2024 at 12 noon EST
An application will be considered complete if it includes: a. and b.
(A) Two professional letters of recommendation from people who have background knowledge of the applicant’s professional work experience and disposition must be submitted online.
(B) A completed application form (which includes the agreement of the applicants conditions written on the signature page of the application form) which must be documented either in English or the language of the applicant’s master’s degree program.
(Take note that a sample of a completed application form written in French by an applicant who is seeking a scholarship to attend a university in the USA or the United Kingdom will not be given priority).
