Apply: Her Startup program For African Female Entrepreneurs (Up to ($5,000 grant)

Her Startup is designed to address the challenges faced by female founders in the entrepreneurial world. The program offers a blend of proven entrepreneurship training, seed funding, and mentoring to provide comprehensive, long-term solutions to the funding issues encountered by female-led start-ups.

The program aims to guide and invest in early-stage companies led by African+ women with high growth potential in emerging industries. It consists of four main steps:

Applicant Selection
Selection will be based on criteria from Her Startup and the Founder’s Institute, including:

African company
Female founder or CEO
Tech-enabled business
Age 18-35
Monthly gross revenue of at least $500
Unique Value Proposition
Operation duration of at least 6 months
Maximum 20% fintechs
At least 15% from Francophone Africa
Training
Selected applicants will undergo an intensive 4-month training program provided by the Founder’s Institute. The program will cover training costs, and founders will receive a stipend in stages. Successful participants will earn a certificate and become eligible to apply for funding.

Funding
Start-ups that complete the training will pitch their business models to the investment committee for an average funding of $5,000. This funding will be provided as convertible revenue-based financing.

Mentoring
Funded start-ups will receive one year of mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and experts, including monthly meetings and support for ad hoc requests.

Her Startup integrates training, funding, and mentoring to support female entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurship Training: A 14-week intensive program by the Founder Institute, renowned for transforming ideas into viable startups and scaling them into global businesses.
Startup Capital: Graduates will pitch to an investment committee for seed funding up to $5,000.
Mentorship and Support: Includes six months of mentorship, co-working space access, and healthcare coverage for one year. Additional capital support may be available based on performance.
