WomenPower2030 Seed-Grant 2025: Call for Applications from Women-Led Organizations in Nigeria and Sierra Leone
The Women Environmental Programme (WEP) invites eligible women-led and women’s rights organizations based in Nigeria and Sierra Leone to apply for the WomenPower2030 Seed-Grant 2025. This initiative supports grassroots action toward promoting gender equality and sustainable development through feminist leadership and advocacy.
About WomenPower2030
WomenPower2030 is a collaborative initiative funded through the Financial Framework Partnership Agreement (FFPA) with the European Union, led by Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF). The consortium includes several notable feminist organizations:
- Women Environmental Programme (WEP)
- FEMNET (African Women’s Development and Communication Network)
- Asia Pacific Forum for Women, Law and Development (APWLD)
- Fundación para Estudio e Investigación de la Mujer (FEIM)
The overarching aim of the project is to enhance the rights, leadership, and influence of women, girls, and marginalized groups in climate policy and sustainable development planning at various levels of governance.
Focus Areas for Funded Initiatives
Applicants are expected to propose initiatives aligned with the mission of WomenPower2030, with a particular emphasis on:
- Engaging in policy monitoring and dialogue with decision-makers
- Promoting education and awareness around gender equality and/or sustainability
- Fostering feminist movement-building
- Demonstrating practical, equitable, and sustainable community solutions
- Delivering gender-specific training and leadership development programs
- Tracking the implementation and budgeting of climate and SDG policies
- Utilizing both social and mainstream media for strategic advocacy
Note: Proposals limited to workshops or basic awareness campaigns will not be prioritized. Preference will be given to projects that influence policy, provide lasting sustainable solutions, and advocate for gender-responsive budgeting.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the grant, your organization must meet the following conditions:
- Be led by women and focused on women’s rights
- Have at least 70% female representation in its management team
- Be actively affiliated with the Gender Advocacy Movement for the Environment (GAME) or other recognized women’s rights networks
- Be legally registered and based in Nigeria or Sierra Leone
- Have no history of fraudulent or criminal activity
- Demonstrate the capacity to successfully implement and manage community-level projects
Grant Details
- Project Duration: 3 to 6 months
- Funding Amount: Up to €5,000 per initiative
- Application Language: English only

- Organizational registration certificate
- Reference letter
- Compilation of previous project records (e.g., reports, media features, testimonials)
