Eligibility Criteria: To participate in TC Battlefield, startups must meet the following criteria:

• The startup must be registered in an African country and serve customers in Africa.
• The startup must have received less than $2 million in funding.
• The startup must have a significant and functional tech component at the time of the competition (corporate websites are not considered the primary tech component).
• The startup must be fully operational and in existence for 6 months to 3 years.
• Startups in the beta phase will be considered in special circumstances if they are expected to officially launch within three months from the competition date.
• The startup must have at least 6 months of recurring revenue.

Stages:

1. Complete an online application on the website.
2. Submit a pitch deck.
3. A 3-minute video pitch is optional but can help your startup stand out.
4. The TechCabal team and the Faculty will review all entries and select the best startups from the pool.
5. Each finalist startup will present their businesses and applications to a live audience and a panel of esteemed judges during the conference on Wednesday, October 11.
6. Winners and runners-up will be announced on Thursday, October 12.

   • Yes, the application is free. Simply register on the website and provide all the required information.
2. Where is TC Battlefield happening?
   • The competition is taking place at the Moonshot 2023 conference on October 11 and 12.

   • No, startups from any industry can apply. Just explain how your product leverages technology to solve a problem.
4. Do I need a ticket to attend the pitch competition?
   • Founders who applied for the competition receive an automatic free pass. Others need to purchase tickets.
5. What are the prizes to be won from the competition?
   • Three winners have the chance to win cash prizes ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 and gain global recognition.
6. Can startups from other countries apply?
   • Currently, we are only accepting applications from startups that serve Nigerian customers. However, individuals from other countries can participate in the conference by purchasing a ticket.
7. Will the audience be allowed to vote for their preferred candidate?
   • While winner selection is primarily decided by the judges, the audience can share their thoughts during the semi-finals and grand finale on social media using the hashtag #MoonshotByTechCabal. Your social media vote will contribute to 10% of the final score.
