Position Overview
The Workshop and Field Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the proper execution of all maintenance and repair activities for workshop and field operations at the DSR Numan location. The role involves managing maintenance tasks, supervising teams, ensuring operational readiness, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Key Objectives
- Oversee workshop and field maintenance operations to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks.
- Monitor performance and efficiency of fleet maintenance.
- Ensure equipment readiness for field and factory operations.
- Provide quick resolutions for maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily Tasks:
- Evaluate maintenance work and ensure timelines are met using PM and fleet tracking reports.
- Monitor Superintendent performance and report efficiency to the Head of Department (HOD).
- Maintain equipment readiness for field and factory operations.
- Supervise all workshop activities and various types of maintenance.
- Troubleshoot unresolved problems and recommend solutions.
- Review daily intervention and breakdown reports and submit to HOD.
- Monitor daily spare consumption and store issuance to optimize stock utilization.
- Conduct quality checks for equipment performance before delivery from the workshop.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance, reliability, and inspection standards.
- Maintain the PM module and provide daily mechanical resource utilization reports.
- Periodic Tasks:
- Conduct random inspections on raised equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Supervise inspection activities and ensure OEM-recommended maintenance is being followed.
- Act as a reliever for the HOD, with authority over mechanical tool utilization and attendance records.
- Additional Assignments:
- Take on special tasks as assigned by the HOD.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and tool usage.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Maintenance Oversight: Supervise in-shop and field repairs for mechanical harvesters and cane transport trucks (10%).
- Material Management: Oversee preparation and follow-up on materials for cane harvesters and trucks (10%).
- Maintenance Programs: Develop and execute maintenance programs for loading and offloading machines (25%).
- Job Delegation: Classify and delegate tasks to appropriate personnel (10%).
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety standards and minimize accidents (10%).
- Diagnostic Supervision: Utilize electronic diagnostic equipment to service machines (10%).
- Accident Assessments: Make preliminary damage assessments and arrange necessary repairs (5%).
- Training and Evaluation: Select, train, and evaluate staff directly or through subordinates (10%).
- Resource Accuracy: Ensure accuracy in shop and resource management as an internal QA/QC body (10%).

Job Specifications
- Educational Requirement: HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Qualification: Any relevant certification is an added advantage
- Experience: 5-7 years of field operations experience, focusing on machinery, harvesters, and heavy machinery maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in a similar role
