Job Description of Protection of Family Links Field Officer 2
The following are the job description of the Protection of Family Links Field Officer 2
*Family Restoration Activities Implementation: the Protection of Family Links Field Officer 2 will, under the direct supervision of the Protection of Family Links Team Lead, be responsible for the implementation of Restoring of Family Links activities in a defined area of responsibilities (AOR). This will be done practically to respond adequately to the needs of families searching for their missing loved ones.
*Contribution to PFL Activities: the applicant for this opening will contribute immensely to the analysis and periodical synthesis of all relevant information that partain to the PFL activities.
*Management of Caseload: the officer will manage the caseload for the AOR including identifying and prioritising action, maintaining contact with volunteers, attributing workload, assessing quality of work done.
*Coaching and Supervision: the protection of family links officer will coach, supervise and provide feedback to the volunteers of NRCS as they collect and treat RFL cases (UAM/SC, TC RCM etc) in the area of responsibility.
*Document Assessment: He or she will timely assess and process all documentation before transmission to the delegation.
*Delivery Assistance: he or she will equally assist in delivering capacity-building trainings for NRCS RFL Volunteers.
*Field Trips Planning: He or she will plan and conduct field trips in support of RFL operations and produces comprehensive and timely reports.
*Rendezvous: the officer will participate in internal and external meetings.
*Translation Duties: the applicant will occasionally and when need arises carry out a translation of RFL documents from local languages to English Language and vice versa.
*Case Analysis: the applicant will be in charge of data quality analysis on cases registered and followed up in MIU.
*Request Response: He or she will receive and respond to request received from enquirers calling the office.
*Incentives Compilation: The applicant will support in the compiling, cross-checking, and processing of volunteer incentives.
*Report Assessment: the applicant will make use of the institutional database (prot 6) to register cases, access reports, prepare working tools and scout for beneficiaries.
*Information Flow: He or she will ensure that the flow of information related to Data Management is detailed and complete.
Academic Qualifications, Requirements and Skills
*Applicant must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any of the fields of law, humanitarian affairs or any other relevant and related field.
*Applicant must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the protection sector.
*Applicant must possess an impeccable fluency in both the written and spoken aspects of the English Language. A knowledge of Hausa, Kanuri, Fulani and other languages spoken in Nigeria will be regarded as a cutting-edge advantage.
*Applicant must have an experience with the Nigerian Red Cross Society as it will be seen as an added advantage.
*Applicants with an experience working with an INGO will be greatly prioritized.
*Applicant must possess computer literacy with knowledge in Excel, Word and Power Point and use of database.
*Applicant must possess a sound analytical skill and troubleshooting skill with a trans-cultural knowledge of the political, cultural, and geographical setting of the northeast Nigeria.
*Applicants should be a Nigerian with a valid means of identification or hold a work permit for non-Nigerians.
*Applicant must have the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
*Applicant must possess the ability to effectively handle discretionary and confidential matters.
*Applicant must be excellent at writing and planning effectively.
