Job Description of the Accountant 2.
The following are the job description of the Accountant 2:
*Analysis of Account Records and Reports: The principal function of the accountant 2 is to, under the direct supervision and instruction of the Accounting and Finance Manager, oversee reconciling process, prepare, and analyse the accounting records and financial reports of the delegation.
*Preparation of Entries: the accountant 2 will regularly prepare accounting entries in the accounting software.
*Ensuring of Accurate Transactions: the accountant will ensure that there is an accurate and complete transaction in compliance with financial procedures.
*Smooth Operations: the applicant for this role will ensure that the operations within his department run smoothly through efficient cash-flow management, covering the fund needs of the delegation and structure.
*Document Filing: the accountant 2 will ensure that the organisation’s files are secured and up to date through a guaranteed proper filing of relevant documents for future reference, which includes audits.
*Integrity Check: the applicant for this opening will regularly carry out an Integrity check on all accounting entries and account balances.
*Activities Closing: the accountant 2 will participates in monthly closing of activities and will be made responsible for part of them.
*Support Provision: the accountant 2 will provide support to other departments and respond to semi-routine and non-standard inquiries when need arise.
*Compilation of Inventories: The accountant will compile pre- and post-closing queries, Inventory Comments, Accounting Comments and Quarterly Balance Sheet Confirmation from subsites which must be submitted to Manilla.
*Service Task Management: the accountant 2 will manage the Finance Service Task Management (STM) at Abuja to ensure proper attributions and allocation of requests for validation and closing of completed requests.
*Bank Payment Process Support: the applicant will equally support in processing Bank Payments for submitted accounting documents.
*Cash Support: He or she will as well in the absence of the cashier, support the cash office.
*Function Support: the accountant 2 will support functions in pre-loggings, vendor creation, bank reconciliation and Monthly List of Account Reconciliation (LARC).
*Tax Analysis: the accountant will compile, monitor, remit and make all analysis for Withholding Tax for the Delegation.
Other Duties of the accountant 2 based on delegation:
*The accountant 2, by virtue of delegation from an ordinate, may be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when such needs surface.
Academic Qualifications and Requirements Skills
*Applicant should possess a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a relevant field.
*Applicant should be handy with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
*Applicant must equally possess a sound knowledge of accounting software.
*Applicant must possess a tangible working experience. An experience as an INGO staff will be a cutting-edge advantage.
*Applicants should be a Nigerian with a valid means of identification or holders of a working permit for non-Nigerians.
*A sound command of the English Language with fluency in both the written and verbal aspects, will be greatly prioritized.
*Applicant must possess organisational skills as well as skilled at planning and executing plans.
*Applicant must possess computer literacy skills with proven proficiency in Microsoft Office software skills like outlook, Excel Power Point, Word.
