Summary: The Finance Manager position entails overseeing the financial operations of the organization comprehensively. The role involves active participation in financial planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting to facilitate strategic decision-making and ensure the company’s financial well-being. Additionally, it includes leading a team of finance professionals, offering guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve departmental objectives effectively.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough review and control of all costs and budgets.
- Oversee monthly provisions across various GL Accounts.
- Prepare monthly MPR (Monthly Performance Reports).
- Monitor daily stock receipts and issues, reporting any discrepancies identified.
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly stock counts.
- Execute journal entries.
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly provisions across various GL Accounts and month-end postings before the period closure on identified GL codes.
- Schedule accrual GL code – 222998 for external audit readiness.
- Supervise all store reservations and postings.
- Perform payroll simulation checks and monitor all payroll payables accounts.
- Monitor all MM & PM Postings before period closure.
- Reconcile Issuances vs. postings on tyre, AGO, and spare parts.
- Handle TECO Order settlement from workshop: KC08G-General settlement, Ko88 -Single order settlement & KOC4, integrating data settlement into costing and financial ledgers.
- Manage miscellaneous income.
- Post all approved income recoverable on Insurance claims and similar cases.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- MBA is advantageous, with a major in business, finance, economics, or statistics.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA).
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Comprehensive understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations, and legislations in the cement manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in advanced accounting principles, including experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficient in using accounting packages and systems, particularly SAP.
- Ability to gather, collate, and analyze information/data effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and people management skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Uphold high ethical standards and integrity.
- Proficient in using MS Office tools.
