Responsibilities of a Security Officer include ensuring the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and guests. This involves enforcing security procedures, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to incidents as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Regularly patrol designated areas to prevent and detect any signs of intrusion, vandalism, or security risks.
- Conduct security checks on individuals, vehicles, and packages entering or leaving the premises.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms to identify potential security breaches.
- Enforce company security policies and access control measures.
- Assist and support employees and visitors with security-related inquiries or concerns.
- Secure all exits, doors, and windows at the close of operations.
- Investigate individuals exhibiting suspicious behavior or possessing suspicious items.
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies, taking necessary action to resolve situations effectively.
- Apprehend and detain suspects according to legal protocols until authorities arrive.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents, including theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an OND degree, with 20 years of supervisory experience in industrial security or 10 years of experience at the officer level.
- Basic understanding of trends, challenges, regulations, and legislation relevant to the cement manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in security systems and law enforcement practices.
- Knowledge of physical and security risk management strategies.
- Strategic thinking abilities.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
