Position: Chief Compliance Officer
Location: Victoria Island, South West Region, Nigeria
Job Description
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Division: MoMo Payment Service Bank (MoMo PSB)
Mission:
Ensure MoMo Payment Service Bank (MoMo PSB) adheres to relevant laws and regulations.
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation of regulatory requirements, including the bank’s AML, CFT, and CPF compliance programs.
Responsibilities:
Regularly assess the adequacy of the bank’s operational systems and controls to ensure ongoing compliance with laws and regulations.
Implement and maintain approved procedures to ensure compliance with the bank.
Offer guidance on risk reduction against financial crimes through the bank’s systems.
Assess and monitor the effectiveness of measures to address deficiencies in compliance with laws and regulations.
Advise and assist individuals responsible for regulated activities in complying with the bank’s procedures.
Oversee independence, autonomy, and effectiveness of the bank’s whistleblowing policies and procedures.
Receive and vet suspicious transaction reports (STRs), filing them with relevant authorities to ensure compliance.
Ensure the implementation of the bank’s compliance program, including coordinating training for the board, management, and staff.
Act as the point of contact for employees on issues related to ML, TF, and PF.
Participate in relevant governance committees and ensure timely submission of compliance reports.
Education:
A first degree or masters in any field, preferably law.
Professional compliance qualification or related field. Membership in the International Compliance Association is an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 12 years of work experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management or leadership role within the financial services industry.
