Role Overview
As the Engineer for Operations Integration and Channels, you will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of MTN Nigeria’s IT applications and systems. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining robust technical solutions that meet organizational needs, supporting system integrity, and ensuring a seamless customer experience across our platforms. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Maintenance: Develop comprehensive maintenance plans for assigned applications and ensure their smooth functioning. This includes tasks such as reconfiguring, rebuilding, and testing application components while adhering to established Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Secure Coding Practices: Write and review application code to comply with the highest security standards, minimizing vulnerabilities and ensuring that solutions are robust and secure.
- Technical Testing: Design and execute detailed technical test plans, focusing on both operational enhancements and resolving technical bugs to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
- Transition Support: Assist in the seamless transition of technical architecture, designs, and development components from the development stage into a stable production environment.
- Integrity Assurance: Take responsibility for maintaining the integrity of solutions deployed within the production environment, ensuring that they meet organizational standards and deliver intended results.
- Monitoring and Reconciliation: Perform proactive monitoring of systems to identify potential issues early. Conduct reconciliation tasks and ensure that effective service controls are in place to maintain system performance.
- Customer Experience Management: Continuously monitor and ensure that the services offered on MTN’s platforms meet or exceed customer expectations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any issues and maintain the quality of service within expected levels.
Qualifications and Skills
Education Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is essential.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 3–7 years of relevant experience in a specialized area within Information Technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within teams, showcasing strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working in a medium-sized organization, with a proven track record of managing operational IT functions effectively.
Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of coding best practices and experience in identifying and mitigating common coding vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with technical test planning and execution processes.
- Proficiency in monitoring tools and techniques to identify and address potential system issues proactively.
