About the Role

The Senior Vice President (SVP) / Business Leader role is a pivotal leadership position that combines technical expertise and strategic acumen to drive business growth. This role involves full ownership of profit and loss (P&L) and responsibility for shaping commercial strategy, overseeing sales, distribution, and go-to-market execution, while ensuring the development of innovative products that align with customer needs and market opportunities.

Job Overview

As the SVP of ERP Business Solutions, you will lead the Moniebook suite of business management tools and oversee its commercial success. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing strategies to deliver world-class tools for small and medium-sized businesses, seamlessly integrated into Moniepoint’s broader ecosystem.

You will guide the Moniebook team to understand customer needs across different segments and develop solutions such as bookkeeping, accounting, tax filing, payroll, and inventory management. Additionally, you will collaborate with marketing and sales teams to drive product adoption, activation, and retention.

This role is based in Lagos and may require international travel as Moniebook expands globally. Your efforts will empower underserved customers with modern financial tools, fostering economic growth and financial inclusion.


Responsibilities

  • Product Vision: Develop a clear strategy to address the needs of small and medium businesses with innovative management software.
  • Product Strategy: Define and execute a roadmap for Moniebook, aligning it with market demands and business goals.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product development process, from ideation to launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • P&L Management: Manage budgets, financial performance, and ROI for all activities related to Moniebook.
  • Business Outcomes: Ensure product features and metrics contribute to Moniepoint’s strategic objectives.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Create and implement a commercial plan to achieve ambitious revenue goals while supporting other company metrics.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
  • Partnership Development: Establish strategic relationships with partners, financial institutions, and stakeholders to drive business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Technical Background: Proven experience in engineering, product management, or leading a product team, with a track record of building B2B software.
  • P&L Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage P&L and drive financial results.
  • Go-to-Market Success: Experience in scaling B2B businesses through strategic go-to-market plans.
  • Fintech Experience: Strong understanding of B2B payments and the fintech ecosystem, with experience in scaling businesses to significant revenue milestones.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Ability to build and maintain key partnerships within Africa’s financial ecosystem.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven success in leading and growing cross-functional teams to achieve outstanding results.
  • Location Flexibility: Willingness to work in or relocate to Lagos.
