Job Title: Field Credit Officer

Job Purpose

As a Field Credit Officer, you will play a key role in onboarding and managing businesses that access Moniepoint’s credit products. Your responsibilities will include growing and maintaining a profitable loan portfolio while ensuring timely repayment of loans.

You will assess business credit applications and use innovative tools developed by Moniepoint to monitor borrowers’ performance throughout the loan period. This role requires expertise in evaluating creditworthiness using the 5Cs of credit (with emphasis on capacity, character, and capital) and providing recommendations to management at every stage of the loan process. Additionally, you must take into account various economic factors to guide decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and onboard qualified businesses within your assigned territory to open Moniepoint business accounts.
  • Actively engage with customers to encourage consistent account usage, enabling them to qualify for credit.
  • Analyze loan requests by thoroughly reviewing available data to approve or decline applications.
  • Conduct physical visits to evaluate potential borrowers’ businesses, assess inventory, and review turnover and financial records.
  • Achieve gross loan portfolio and profitability targets while maintaining a portfolio of performing loans.
  • Monitor active loan accounts to ensure regular repayment and ongoing use of Moniepoint business accounts.
  • Perform other credit-related duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an OND in a business-related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a sales role, specifically dealing with credit products in a financial institution.
  • Proven knowledge of credit risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with financial analysis is an added advantage.
  • Residency in Enugu State is required.
