The Role
We are on a mission to achieve ambitious growth and expansion goals, which is why we’re seeking a Director of Growth for our Retail Banking division. This leadership role sits within the Growth team, reporting directly to our Chief Growth Officer, and focuses on expanding Moniepoint’s consumer market share in Nigeria. The primary objective is to drive customer acquisition and penetration, positioning Moniepoint as the market leader in personal banking.
We’re looking for an experienced business leader with a strong background in consumer markets and app-based products. The ideal candidate will have a blend of product management experience, growth leadership, and a results-driven mindset. They should possess strategic vision, innovative problem-solving skills, and the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
This Director-level role is critical to achieving six key metrics: market share, customer acquisition, customer conversion, retention, engagement, and customer acquisition cost (CAC). Success in this role will require close collaboration with Product, Growth, Marketing, and Sales teams to align efforts toward shared goals.
As a key figure in our growth team, the Retail Banking Growth Director will influence business strategy and direction, driving results across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the financial ecosystem in emerging markets and champion financial inclusion across Africa.

Key Responsibilities
Set annual growth targets and budget, aligning them with Moniepoint’s market leadership objectives.
Lead cross-functional teams to meet core metrics, including millions of retail account activations in the next year.
Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy and action plan.
Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to achieve monthly and quarterly growth goals.
Work closely with the Product team to optimize customer conversion, engagement, and retention.
Drive the development of new features to enhance customer experience.
Advocate for customer-centric decision-making through data and research insights.
Guide the Sales team in achieving offline acquisition goals by providing necessary tools and support.
Strategically allocate budgets to maximize growth while maintaining agreed CAC.
Create detailed annual growth plans, incorporating offline media, digital channels, referrals, and incentive programs.
Oversee execution of growth plans in collaboration with local and global teams.
Identify opportunities to boost brand awareness through offline media and digital channels.
Leverage quantitative analysis and data mining to understand user behavior, uncover growth opportunities, and enhance engagement.
Provide tactical support to the Sales team for direct customer acquisition efforts.
Required Skills and Experience
8–10 years of experience in growth, product management, or leadership roles such as GM, Country Manager, Commercial Director, or Head of Growth/Product in tech, e-commerce, or telecom. Fintech experience is an advantage.
Proven track record in driving business growth and developing investment strategies.
Strong foundation in product management principles.
Expertise in performance marketing, CRM, media strategy, and media buying is highly desirable.
Proficiency in analyzing conversion funnels and driving improvements.
Demonstrated ability to create and implement annual sales and marketing plans, including media investment and promotional campaigns.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to inform decision-making.
Proven success in achieving aggressive growth targets for customer acquisition, engagement, and transaction volumes.
