About the Role
As the Head of Credit Risk Analytics, you will oversee the credit risk management function for our SME lending product. This position requires leveraging expertise in credit risk management, quantitative data models, and analytics to refine our credit underwriting framework.
You will use customer and transaction data to make data-driven credit decisions, develop and implement credit risk models, and optimize strategies to improve credit processes. The role demands leadership, technical skills, and experience to enhance the performance of our credit portfolio while effectively managing risks.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously optimize data-driven credit strategies to support growth and portfolio performance.
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness using predictive analytics and various data sources to determine credit limits that balance growth and risk.
- Monitor credit loss metrics, identify trends, and adapt strategies to enhance approval rates, portfolio expansion, and loss performance.
- Utilize statistical and machine learning tools for credit risk assessment and fraud detection.
- Conduct cohort analyses of the credit portfolio, evaluating variables such as business type, location, credit history, and disbursement date to uncover predictive insights that refine credit decisions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
- Perform additional credit risk management tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in a business-related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in credit risk management or credit portfolio management.
- Strong knowledge of data-driven credit risk analytics and monitoring.
- Proficiency in data tools such as SQL and Python.
- Experience in the Nigerian lending market is an advantage.
