Mission
The role involves leading strategic initiatives to optimize financial resources, enhance profitability, and provide tailored investment solutions for MoMo PSB.
Description
- Develop retail and Treasury Banking products aimed at generating low-cost funds and driving liability growth.
- Oversee the float and trust account management of the Bank to ensure liquidity and profitability.
- Formulate strategies and policies for cash investments in alignment with regulatory guidelines and MoMo PSB’s investment policies.
- Collaborate with the Treasurer to manage the Bank’s cash flow.
- Recommend and purchase short-, medium-, or long-term money market instruments in line with MoMo PSB investment policy.
- Stay informed about developments in the Nigerian money market to ensure that selected investment instruments protect the Bank’s assets.
- Prepare investment and liquidity reports, providing timely and accurate updates on MoMo PSB’s investments, liquidity, exposure, and cash-flow forecasts.
- Certify and issue the monthly Analysis of Investment Income, comparing actual performance against projections, explaining any variances, and ensuring alignment with benchmarks (e.g., 90-day treasury).
- Prepare annual investment reports for the Treasurer.
- Draft policies and procedures related to investment activities.
- Foster good relationships with the bank team to facilitate smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with CBN requirements and other regulatory authorities.
Requirements
Education:
- A first degree in Accounting, Economics, or any other finance-related discipline.
- Relevant postgraduate education is advantageous.
- A certification from ACI is preferred.
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA) is also advantageous.
Experience:
- 6 – 13 years of experience, including:
- At least 3 years in a specialized area, with supervisory/management experience.
- Experience working in a medium to large organization.
- Exposure to international trade finance, corporate finance, treasury management, foreign exchange activities, and cash management.
- Familiarity with capital markets and financial investment securities.
- Experience with equity, hybrid, or debt investments, either at a corporation, investment bank, or firms specializing in accounting, law, tax, or investor relations.
