Mission

This role is central to managing MTN’s enterprise-wide efforts to develop, publish, and maintain master data definitions and launch a comprehensive master data management initiative. The Manager will oversee the standardization and implementation of approved business rules across the organization to ensure data integrity and quality. The goal is to create a robust framework that supports data governance across all business units and ensures that data quality standards are consistently met across MTN.

Description

  • Data Quality and Governance: Ensure Business Intelligence (BI) information meets all quality, governance, and legal requirements. Implement effective master data management to maintain data integrity and support enterprise financial reporting.
  • Framework Development: Develop and manage the Data Governance framework across the commercial team. This involves defining, implementing, and enforcing data policies and processes that standardize how data is created, used, shared, and managed throughout the organization.
  • Functional Requirements and IT Delivery: Translate business needs into functional requirements and manage the entire lifecycle for IT deliverables. This includes working closely with IT teams to ensure that systems and processes align with data governance policies and support business objectives.
  • Project Management: Develop and maintain project plans, coordinating cross-functional activities for assigned projects. This includes monitoring schedules to ensure timely completion, meeting deadlines, and managing budgetary constraints. Regularly communicate with business managers regarding the status of specific projects and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with internal stakeholders including IS (Information Systems), NWG (Network), and Commercial functions to deliver business value through establishing process and data policy. Build and maintain relationships across teams to ensure smooth execution of data governance initiatives.

Requirements

Education:

  • A first degree in Business/Information Systems Management or a related field is required, along with relevant professional experience.
  • A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in English is essential.

Experience:

  • 6 – 13 years of experience, which includes:
    • A minimum of 3 years in a specialized area, with experience in supervising or managing others.
    • Experience working in a medium to large organization.
    • At least 2-3 years in Information Systems and/or analytical business systems.
    • Proven experience as a project manager and business process analyst.
    • Hands-on experience with SAS, Business Objects, product selection/proof of concept, and data warehousing.
    • Product and marketing management experience is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence products, best practices, and implementation approaches required.
