Following the recent rebranding of NIYEEDEP to YEIDEP, the management announced an initiative to simplify the bank account opening process for applicants. As part of this update, applicants’ data will be transferred directly to participating banks, where accounts will be automatically created. Once the accounts are set up, applicants will receive an SMS notification with their account details. Upon receiving this message, applicants are required to visit the nearest branch of the assigned bank to finalize their registration. This final step involves uploading key identification documents such as a passport, BVN, and NIN, among others.
In line with this initiative, Union Bank has begun reaching out to applicants through SMS to facilitate the completion of their account registration. The SMS notification from Union Bank reads as follows:
“Dear Customer, as part of the YEIDEP requirements, please visit the Union Bank website to complete your account opening. Got questions? Call 07007007000.”
