The U.S. Mission to Nigeria, in partnership with the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) of the U.S. Department of State, has announced an open competition. This invites organizations to submit applications for the Julia Taft Refugee Fund program, focusing on one-time, cost-effective interventions addressing crucial gaps in protection and assistance for refugees and stateless persons.
Program Objectives:
The program aims to fill assistance gaps through quick impact projects, addressing critical needs not covered by UNHCR, ICRC, IOM, or other international and non-governmental organizations. Projects under the Taft Fund should target at least 50 percent refugees or returned refugees, excluding activities for internally displaced or stateless persons in Nigeria. Funding may extend to projects supporting equal access for LGBTQI+ refugees and stateless persons.
Proposed projects should be one-time interventions, not sustained programs.
Funding Information:
Estimated Total Program Funding: $25,000
Award Ceiling: $25,000
Award Floor: $10,000
Participants and Audiences:
Communities with a minimum of 50 percent refugees or returned refugees.
Eligibility Criteria:
Not-for-profit organizations (NPOs), including civil society/non-governmental organizations (NGOs) registered at the federal or state level in Nigeria.
