Job Summary
The Head of Procurement will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that align with our business goals. This role will oversee the procurement function, manage supplier relationships, mitigate procurement risks, and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will lead a team of procurement professionals and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy Development:
Formulate and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives, focusing on cost reduction, efficiency, and value creation. - Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals by providing mentorship, training, and performance management to achieve procurement goals. - Procurement Operations:
Oversee procurement activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. - Supplier Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to secure high-quality goods and services at competitive prices. - Contract Management:
Negotiate, manage, and oversee supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. - Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate procurement risks by ensuring robust controls and adherence to regulatory standards. - Budget and Cost Control:
Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with company objectives. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure procurement processes are aligned with business needs and expectations. - Process Improvement:
Implement procurement systems and processes that drive operational efficiency and compliance. - Performance Reporting:
Provide regular reports and analytics on procurement performance, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Job Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
A bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIPS, ISM, or APICS are preferred. - Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement, including at least 8 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in international procurement is essential.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of procurement principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
