Job Summary
The Fleet Planning Senior Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the Technical Manager (TM) in planning, controlling, and delivering cost-effective fleet management solutions. The successful candidate will oversee fleet operations and ensure effective resource management while driving safety standards and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Resource Management and Quality Assurance:
- Act as an internal Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA&QC) lead to ensure shop and resource management accuracy.
- Technical Specification Drafting:
- Collaborate on drafting technical specifications for fleet equipment to ensure operational suitability and cost-efficiency.
- Fleet Planning and KPI Development:
- Participate in developing short-term and long-term fleet management plans and setting performance indicators to monitor operational success.
- Safety Standards and Compliance:
- Establish, implement, and maintain safety standards and practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations while minimizing accidents and injuries.
- Data-Driven Reporting:
- Conduct research, analyze data, and produce comprehensive reports related to various aspects of fleet management.
- Fleet Performance Management:
- Establish performance standards and policies to enhance fleet operations and maintain optimal efficiency.
- Material Preparation:
- Supervise the preparation and procurement of materials required for fleet maintenance and repairs.
- Task Delegation:
- Classify, organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks to appropriate personnel to ensure operational effectiveness.
- External Contracting:
- Evaluate the need for external repair services and negotiate contracts for outsourced fleet repairs.
- Staff Management:
- Lead the recruitment, training, and evaluation of fleet department personnel to ensure a high-performing team.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Draft accurate and cost-effective fleet technical specifications (10%).
- Develop and review both short-term and long-term fleet management plans, ensuring effective KPI implementation (10%).
- Produce analytical reports on fleet management performance (25%).
- Enforce safety standards and minimize accidents (10%).
- Maintain and update fleet performance policies and procedures (10%).
- Supervise material preparation and follow-up for fleet maintenance (10%).
- Classify and assign tasks effectively (5%).
- Negotiate and manage external repair contracts (5%).
- Ensure shop and resource management accuracy through internal QA&QC efforts (10%).
- Oversee staff selection, training, and development (5%).

Job Requirements
- Educational Qualifications:
- Minimum of HND or B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Certifications:

- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in fleet management.
