Job Summary

The Factory Manager will be responsible for the overall management, performance, and maintenance of manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, product quality, and cost-effective production. The role demands a strong leader capable of driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing staff, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Production Process Management:
    • Develop and implement efficient production processes to ensure product quality and optimal throughput.
    • Monitor and refine manufacturing operations to align with organizational targets for performance and profitability.
  2. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of production staff to enhance their skills, productivity, and overall efficiency.
    • Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.
  3. Coordination with Supply Chain and Sales:
    • Collaborate with supply chain and sales departments to align production schedules with demand forecasts and inventory levels.
  4. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
    • Implement and oversee projects to reduce costs, eliminate waste, and improve production processes.
    • Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Track and analyze production metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare and present detailed reports on production performance and productivity to senior management.
  7. Quality Assurance:
    • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all products meet company and industry standards.
    • Implement corrective actions when quality issues are identified to avoid recurrence.

  1. Production Throughput: Ensure targets for production volume and efficiency are met.
  2. Product Quality: Maintain a high standard of product quality with minimal defects.
  3. Employee Development: Improve team skillsets and reduce employee turnover rates.
  4. Safety Compliance: Ensure zero safety violations and minimize workplace accidents.
  5. Cost Efficiency: Achieve cost-reduction targets through waste elimination and process improvements.
  6. On-Time Production: Ensure production schedules are met with minimal delays.

Job Requirements

  1. Educational Qualifications:
    • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
  2. Professional Experience:
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or production management role, preferably in FMCG or heavy industry sectors.
    • Experience in managing large teams and complex production processes.
  3. Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Proficiency in production planning, inventory management, and process optimization.
    • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  4. Leadership and Personal Attributes:
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
    • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
