Job Description (Power Maintenance Engineer – DSR Numan Operation)

Department/Unit: Maintenance Section
Reports To: Factory Manager
Direct Reports: Supervisors and Technicians


Overall Purpose and Objectives

The Power Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the efficient operation and regular maintenance of power steam turbines and diesel generators. This role involves conducting daily inspections, ensuring optimal equipment performance, and addressing malfunctions to prevent operational disruptions.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Diagnostics and Spare Parts Recommendations:
    • Conduct diagnostic tests to assess equipment performance.
    • Analyze findings to recommend precise spare parts required for efficient maintenance.
  2. Collaboration with Electrical and Instrument Engineers:
    • Work closely with electrical and instrumentation teams to ensure seamless operation and maintenance.
  3. Operations Oversight and Maintenance Planning:
    • Monitor the operation of steam turbines and diesel generator systems.
    • Develop proactive maintenance plans and repair schedules to reduce spare parts costs and downtime.
  4. Major Overhauls and Routine Inspections:
    • Perform major overhauls on steam turbines.
    • Carry out daily inspections and regular maintenance activities to ensure consistent equipment reliability.
  5. Daily Monitoring:
    • Conduct frequent inspections to ensure the continuous functionality of power turbines and diesel generators, promptly addressing any malfunctions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  1. Maintenance Efficiency:
    • Effective maintenance of steam turbines and diesel generators.
  2. Equipment Care:
    • Proper upkeep of all gear and rotan-type pumps.
  3. Generator Performance:
    • Maintenance of generators and their gearboxes for peak performance.
  4. Condition Monitoring:
    • Continuous lubrication and condition monitoring of all machinery to ensure operational integrity.

Job Specifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of B.Sc. or HND in Electrical or related Engineering fields.

  • COREN, NSE, or any relevant professional certification.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in power maintenance.
