Position Summary
The Harvest Machine Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance of harvest machinery by completing necessary repairs and maintenance prior to the start of the season. The technician will also be responsible for stabilizing machine performance during operations, ensuring operational readiness, and addressing any equipment issues promptly.

Key Objectives
- Ensure all harvest machinery is fully operational and stable at the start of the harvest season.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise and execute corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of machine repairs, fuel consumption, and machine history.
- Ensure safety standards are met in all maintenance operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily Tasks:
- Report unresolved issues immediately and seek guidance from the supervisor on corrective actions.
- Document and report daily interventions, breakdowns, and work performed to supervisors for review.
- Manage workload efficiently and ensure adherence to maintenance and inspection requirements.
- Track and record machine performance, fuel usage, and operating details.
- Conduct final performance checks on machines before daily operations commence.
- Analyze machine history to determine necessary repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Submit daily completion reports, including tool and resource handover, and attendance updates.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor, including acting as a reliever for other mechanics.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Repair and Overhaul: Repair or overhaul various types of heavy and light machinery, components, systems, and accessories (10%).
- Inspection and Calibration: Conduct thorough inspections, adjustments, and calibrations on assigned equipment (10%).
- Workshop Organization: Maintain a safe and orderly workshop environment (25%).
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety policies and practices to minimize workplace accidents (10%).
- Diagnostic Equipment: Utilize electronic diagnostics equipment for fleet servicing (10%).
- Problem Management: Address complex fleet maintenance issues effectively (10%).
- Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the workshop and work areas (5%).
- Mechanical Assistance: Provide support in mechanical tasks both in the field and in the workshop (5%).

Job Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Minimum National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
- Professional Qualification: Professional certifications are an added advantage.
- Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical repairs and maintenance.
