Apply YALI RLC West Africa Emerging Leaders Program: Cohort 52 (Onsite) is Fully Funded.

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) represents a key U.S. government initiative aimed at empowering the next wave of African leaders. The Accra Regional Leadership Center (RLC), hosted by the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), serves nine West African nations: Togo, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, The Gambia, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Cameroon, and Sierra Leone. This center provides a transformative leadership training program that equips young individuals with the skills needed to bring positive change to their communities.

YALI’s West Africa Regional Leadership Center offers qualifying young African leaders the tools, skills, and resources to serve their organizations, communities, and countries more effectively. Applications for Cohort 52 are currently open, offering in-person training in leadership across three specialized tracks: Public Policy Management, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Civic Leadership.

Eligibility Requirements:

Age range: 18 to 35 years
Must be a citizen of Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone, or The Gambia
Proficiency in English
Active involvement in driving positive change within an organization, community, or nation
Demonstrated leadership interest in Public Policy Management, Business and Entrepreneurship, or Civic Leadership
Priority Applications Encouraged From:

Rural-based or economically disadvantaged young leaders
Young leaders with disabilities
Women and other underrepresented groups
Program Tracks:

Business and Entrepreneurship: Designed for emerging or aspiring entrepreneurs looking to lead within the private sector or launch their own businesses.

Civic Leadership: Tailored for those who are civically engaged or wish to contribute to society through NGOs, community-based organizations, or volunteer efforts.

Public Policy and Management: Suited for those working or aspiring to work in government, regional organizations, international bodies, or policy-oriented institutions.
