The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced the opening of its recruitment portal for tax officer positions, with applications set to commence at 12:00 am on November 2nd, 2024. The tax authority is seeking to fill Officer I and Officer II roles across multiple locations in Nigeria.
In its official recruitment notice, FIRS encouraged women, minorities, and persons with disabilities to apply. The available positions span eight states: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo. However, candidates should be prepared to work at any of FIRS’s business locations, irrespective of their initial posting preferences.
Eligibility criteria include being 27 years old or younger by December 31, 2024, and having completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) no later than December 31, 2021. Educational requirements specify a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in First Class or Second Class Upper Division in relevant fields such as Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Statistics, among others. Additionally, having relevant master’s degrees and professional affiliations (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, COREN, NSE) will be considered an advantage.
The selection process will involve multiple assessment stages. FIRS emphasizes the importance of using official application channels and advises candidates to be cautious of fraudulent recruitment activities. Applications must be submitted through the official portal.
The deadline for submissions is November 14th, 2024. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit only one application for their preferred location, as multiple applications are prohibited.
