The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially declared the opening of its nationwide recruitment exercise. This initiative invites qualified and eligible Nigerians to apply for full-time positions across several federal paramilitary agencies.

The announcement was made by the board’s secretary, Retired Major General Abdulmalik Jubril, in a formal statement released on Monday, June 23, 2025, from Abuja.


๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Who Can Apply?

The recruitment drive is open to individuals seeking to join any of the following agencies:

  • Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
  • Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
  • Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
  • Federal Fire Service (FFS)

According to the CDCFIB, applications are to be submitted online only, and must be completed within three weeks of the publication date. Applicants are strongly advised to apply for only one agency, as submitting multiple applications across different agencies will result in automatic disqualification.

Additionally, it was stressed that no payment is required for the application process. All applications are entirely free of charge.


๐Ÿ“‹ Available Positions and Qualifications:

The recruitment covers various roles across three major categories:


1. Superintendent Cadre

  • Superintendent of Corrections (CONMESS 09) โ€“ Exclusive to NCoS:
    Requires a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Medicine and Surgery.
  • Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09) โ€“ Applicable to FFS only:
    Candidates must hold a Law degree or BSc in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Water Engineering, or related fields.
  • Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 08) โ€“ Open to NSCDC, FFS, and NIS:
    Requires a Bachelorโ€™s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any relevant discipline.

2. Inspectorate Cadre

  • Inspector (CONHESS 06) โ€“ Available for NCoS, NSCDC, and FFS only:
    Applicants must be registered nurses or midwives.
  • Assistant Inspector (CONPASS 06):
    Requires a National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE) in any relevant area.

3. Assistant Cadre

  • Assistant II (CONPASS 04) โ€“ General Duty:
    Must have a GCE Oโ€™Level, SSCE, NECO, or equivalent qualification with a minimum of five (5) credits in not more than two sittings.
  • Assistant III โ€“ General Duty:
    Requires at least four (4) credits in similar examinations within a maximum of two sittings.

All prospective applicants must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens by birth
  • Possess the necessary educational and professional qualifications
  • Be physically and mentally fit for service
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Have no prior criminal record, especially relating to financial crimes or fraud
