Mission
This role is responsible for the development of new applications, maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing in-house developed applications. The Engineer will investigate and analyze user problems, application bugs, monitoring, reconciliation, and technical testing of patches and solutions. The objective is to ensure smooth and efficient operations, technical integrity, and effective troubleshooting.
Description
- Process Optimization and Value Creation: Ensure business growth and value creation through process optimization, new initiatives, improved operations, and efficient work practices.
- Application Maintenance: Develop maintenance plans for applications, carry out reconfiguration, building, and testing of components in accordance with OLAs and SLAs.
- Security and Code Integrity: Ensure that code applications adhere to good security coding practices to protect the application from common vulnerabilities.
- Technical Testing and Troubleshooting: Create and execute technical test plans for operational and bug fixes. Participate in the transition of applications or technical architecture into the production environment, ensuring the integrity of solutions delivered.
- Reconciliation and Monitoring: Perform reconciliations, proactively monitor applications, and ensure adequate service controls are in place.
- Integration and Automation: Develop and deploy APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for seamless integration between applications. Automate business processes into solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Application Development: Utilize a range of technologies including PL/SQL, RDBMS, UNIX shell scripting, and mobile telecommunications applications. Design and develop reconciliation routines, performance tuning routines, and process archiving routines.
Requirements
Education:
- A first degree in Computer Science or any related discipline.
- Proficiency in English.
- Cloud certification such as MS Azure Fundamentals, AWS, etc. is highly desirable.
Experience:
- 3-7 years of experience, including:
- A minimum of 3 years in a specialized area, with experience in supervising others.
- Experience working in a medium-sized organization.
- Proven experience with application development using a range of technologies.
- Exposure to mobile telecommunications applications.
- Experience with UNIX shell scripting.
- Strong knowledge of PL/SQL and RDBMS development.
- Experience in developing and maintaining APIs for seamless integration between systems.
