The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) is an international financial institution founded by the 15 member countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which includes Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo.
EBID’s primary mission is to support economic development across West Africa by financing ECOWAS and NEPAD projects and programs. The bank is headquartered in Lomé, Togo.
We are currently seeking a qualified citizen of the ECOWAS Community to fill the following professional position:
Position Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Lomé, Togo

Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Private Sector Operations, the Financial Analyst will help implement EBID’s project financing policy, supporting projects through all stages of the project cycle.
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and prepare project proposals.
- Oversee procurement procedures for goods and services.
- Initiate and track disbursement requests.
- Conduct on-site inspections of investments financed by the bank.
- Review project implementation status and assess work quality.
- Monitor performance of project execution agencies.
- Prepare regular activity reports for the bank’s project portfolio.
- Follow projects through to full completion.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors and management.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Master’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Management, or a related field from a recognized university.
- At least seven years of relevant professional experience in project financing and management (identification, preparation, appraisal, monitoring, and supervision) within a national or international organization.
- Experience as a credit analyst or business plan consultant is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financing arrangements and structured finance.
- Expertise in project appraisal, monitoring, supervision, and procurement.
- Proficiency in economic and financial appraisal, risk analysis, and mitigation for various project sectors.
- Skilled in financial analysis (including accounting analysis, trend analysis, and sector comparison).
- Proficient in financial modeling and forecasting, including sensitivity analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Physical capacity to participate in field missions.
Additional Requirements
- Must be a national of an ECOWAS Member State.
- Proficient in computer software, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in French, English, or Portuguese, with working proficiency in one of the other two languages.
