Program Title: NMA Postgraduate Internship Program
Location: Lagos
Duration:
- Minimum of 6 months
- Maximum of 12 months for Master’s degree candidates
- Up to 24 months for Doctoral (PhD) candidates
About the Internship Program:
Chevron Nigeria Limited’s Postgraduate Internship Program is a core part of the company’s commitment to talent development and community investment through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This program supports the Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and other postgraduate professional development initiatives by offering research-focused and skill-based learning opportunities to Nigerian students.
This specialized internship is designed for students currently enrolled in Master’s, Doctorate, or postgraduate professional qualification programs, either within Nigeria or abroad. It aims to:
- Provide a structured platform for practical learning and technical skill development.
- Expose postgraduate students to real-time corporate operations and industry research.
- Support research and academic work through access to professional tools, facilities, and mentorship.
- Bridge the gap between academic study and workplace expectations in the energy sector.
As an intern, you will be assigned to projects and tasks that align with your academic discipline or area of research interest. You will work closely with an experienced supervisor who will oversee your activities, evaluate your progress, and provide professional guidance throughout the duration of the program.
Interns will also have the opportunity to interact with multidisciplinary teams, participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, and gain practical experience that adds value to both their academic and career trajectories.
Who Can Apply? – Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for this internship opportunity, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a Nigerian citizen currently enrolled in a postgraduate academic program either locally or internationally.
- Candidates must be pursuing a Master’s degree, Doctorate (Ph.D.), or a recognized postgraduate professional qualification (e.g., specialized certifications or fellowship programs).
- Internship must be a mandatory requirement of the candidate’s academic or research program.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a corporate or research-oriented environment.
- Applicants must clearly state their research areas or professional areas of interest in their application.
Additional Requirements:
- A formal recommendation letter from the applicant’s academic institution is compulsory. This letter must affirm that the internship is a necessary component of the candidate’s study or research.

- The internship may last between 6 to 12 months for Master’s students and up to 24 months for Doctoral students, depending on academic requirements and project timelines.
- A selection process involving aptitude assessments and/or interviews will be conducted. Final selection will be based on candidate performance and the availability of internship placements.
