The Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (LAP) was initiated by Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, as an intervention initiative with the goal of generating employment, alleviating poverty, and ensuring food security. The program focuses on training and empowering women and youth as Agripreneurs in modern agricultural practices.
This aligns with the Ministry of Agriculture’s responsibilities in the T.H.E.M.E.S. PLUS developmental agenda of the State Government, emphasizing Capacity Building, Wealth & Employment Generation, and Ensuring Food Security. Applications are now open for qualified candidates to participate in a one-month training program covering Poultry, Piggery, Aquaculture, Vegetable Value Chains, E-Agric, and Agribusiness at the Agricultural Training Institute, Araga, Epe.
Upon completing the training, participants will undergo a minimum of three months of internship and mentorship in their chosen value chains.
Requirements:
Unemployed women and youth with a passion for agriculture who must:
- Possess a minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate.
- Have a satisfactory physical/health condition.
- Be between the ages of 18-35 for males and 18-40 years for females.
Application Procedure:
Qualified applicants should visit the
LAP APPLICATION PORTAL to complete the online application form. Follow the provided online instructions for filling out the registration form and uploading the required documents (LASRRA Card and Academic Credentials). It is recommended that applicants take pictures of the mentioned documents and store them on their smartphones, tablets, or computers before accessing the registration portal for easy document upload on request.
Applicants must fill in all required details, as failure to do so will render their application incomplete. Shortlisted candidates will receive SMS notifications to attempt an online Aptitude Test on dates scheduled for each month.
