Application Deadline: February 24, 2025
Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship Program. This program is designed to empower young global leaders who are actively engaged in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and may lack access to critical educational and networking opportunities. Participants will benefit from academic training, participation in international forums, skill-building workshops, and peer-to-peer mentoring opportunities.
This year’s program will select 14 young leaders from Africa who are dedicated to advancing the SDGs. They will be joined by three students from the Management Center Innsbruck, creating a cohort of 17 changemakers for the scholarship.
Scholars will be tasked with designing and implementing their own SDG Micro-Project in their communities between April and December 2025. These projects will address one or more SDGs in a local context.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to African youth from all countries and backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation
- Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 35
- A demonstrated commitment to SDGs and global citizenship values is required
- English proficiency at a B2 level (based on European standards) is necessary
- Candidates should have completed at least a Master’s degree (exceptions may be made for candidates who have successfully completed their first year of study)
