Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced E-Business Settlement Officer to manage and reconcile electronic transactions, ensure accuracy in settlements, and resolve issues related to digital payment channels. This role is vital in maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring a seamless customer experience across our digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee settlement processes for card transactions across multiple platforms (e.g., Verve, Mastercard, Visa).
- Manage ATM and POS transaction reconciliations and settlements.
- Investigate and resolve transaction disputes and failed operations on digital channels such as ATMs, USSD, POS, Web, and mobile banking.
- Handle failed airtime purchases, transfers, and bill payments on USSD and digital banking platforms.
- Process chargebacks, refunds, and customer reimbursement claims as appropriate.
- Reconcile e-business ledgers daily and investigate discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor and fund offshore settlement accounts for card transactions.
- Provide timely and professional customer support related to card and e-payment issues.
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly reports to regulatory bodies such as the CBN and NDIC.
- Stay informed about evolving e-payment regulations and settlement processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 2–4 years of hands-on experience in e-business operations, settlement, or reconciliation within the banking or fintech sector.
Key Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office applications.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
- Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
- Familiarity with switching and settlement platforms like Interswitch and NIBSS.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
