About the Role
Optimus Bank is seeking an experienced and customer-focused professional to join our dynamic team as a Customer Service Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service experiences to clients, ensuring that all inquiries, requests, and transactions are handled with accuracy, efficiency, and care. You will play a critical role in maintaining the bank’s reputation for reliability and responsiveness.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver prompt and professional service to walk-in and digital customers.
- Ensure seamless and timely resolution of customer issues in alignment with service level agreements.
- Process customer requests, inquiries, and transactions accurately and efficiently, minimizing the risk of errors.
- Maintain up-to-date records and properly manage customer documentation and account information.
- Oversee end-of-day operational activities, including report generation and compliance checks.
- Suggest and implement improvements to service processes to enhance customer experience and reduce operational costs.
- Uphold high standards of risk management by preventing service fraud and ensuring full compliance with regulatory policies.
- Assist in managing the branch’s service infrastructure, including workstations and customer service counters, for optimal functionality.
- Educate customers about available digital banking options and promote the adoption of digital platforms.
- Perform account servicing tasks such as account updates, restrictions, internet banking enrollment, stop cheque processing, and setting up standing instructions.
- Ensure that all service activities are cost-efficient and in line with budget expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in customer service within a banking or financial institution.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Sound knowledge of core banking systems and digital banking platforms.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and other service-related software.
