Position: Card Operations Manager

Job Overview

OPay is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Card Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of card processing and distribution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing card-related operations, maintaining vendor relationships, supervising teams, and optimizing processes. This role requires excellent leadership, analytical thinking, and organizational skills to ensure smooth and efficient card operations in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

1. Card File Management

  • Oversee the generation and upload of card files to Interswitch.
  • Monitor and update online card files in collaboration with Interswitch.
  • Manage and track card file updates with card personalization service providers.

2. Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Oversee a telesales team in managing customer interactions.
  • Supervise the Card Logistics team in handling OPay card distribution to agents and consumers.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll processing and submission for approval.

3. Vendor & Partner Relationship Management

  • Manage and nurture relationships with card personalization vendors and logistics providers.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Interswitch Card Operations Team.
  • Collaborate with the Verve Card Business Team to streamline operations.

4. Inventory & Audits

  • Conduct monthly inventory audits with card personalization companies.
  • Perform routine visits to production facilities for physical verification of card stock.

5. Process Optimization

  • Ensure efficiency and compliance in all card operation processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance operational effectiveness.

6. Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Generate and present reports on key performance metrics for card operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in card operations, preferably within the fintech or banking industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of card processing systems such as Interswitch and Verve.
  • Proven expertise in vendor management and relationship building.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in logistics management is an added advantage.
