2025 NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture Undergraduate Scholarship Program for Nigerian Students

Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), in partnership with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), is pleased to announce the 2025 edition of its highly competitive University Scholarship Awards. This initiative is part of the Joint Venture’s commitment to supporting human capital development and promoting academic excellence among young Nigerians.

The scholarship scheme aims to provide financial support to high-performing undergraduate students across all states of the federation, enabling them to complete their academic programs with less financial burden.


Scholarship Overview

This annual scholarship program is a cornerstone of Chevron’s social investment strategy in Nigeria’s education sector. It targets second-year undergraduate students enrolled in Nigerian universities, who have demonstrated strong academic performance and leadership potential.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Performance: Must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (or equivalent on a different grading system).
  • Academic Level: Must be currently enrolled as a full-time 200-level student in a recognized Nigerian university.
  • O’Level Result: Must have a minimum of six (6) credits in one sitting, including English and Mathematics.
  • Course of Study: Must be pursuing a degree in any of the following disciplines:
    • Accountancy
    • Agricultural Science
    • Architecture
    • Business Administration / Economics
    • Computer Science
    • Environmental Studies / Surveying
    • Geology / Geophysics / Geoinformatics
    • Law
    • Mass Communication / Journalism
    • Engineering (all branches)
    • Dentistry
    • Pharmacy
    • Medicine and Surgery

Documents Required

Before beginning your application, ensure you have clear, scanned copies of the following documents:

  1. Recent passport photograph (not older than 6 months, size: 450px x 450px, not exceeding 200kb)
  2. Valid School ID card
  3. University admission letter
  4. Birth certificate or sworn affidavit of age declaration
  5. O’Level result (WAEC/NECO)
  6. JAMB result slip
  7. Local Government Area Certificate of Origin
