The NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship program aims to assist outstanding first-year students in Nigerian universities for the 2024/2025 academic session. It provides the necessary support to help these students excel in their studies and contribute to national progress.
NLNG is dedicated to ensuring that the scholarship is inclusive and invites applications from all qualified candidates, including Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs).
Eligibility Criteria for NLNG Scholarship 2024
To qualify for the NLNG Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen residing in the country.
- Be a full-time first-year student in an accredited federal or state university in Nigeria for the 2024/2025 academic session.
- Have at least five O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English, obtained in one sitting through WASC, SSCE, or NECO.
- Be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of application.
- Not be receiving any other scholarship, bursary, or grant from any other organization.
- Not be a spouse, child, ward, or close relative of an NLNG employee.
Additionally, applicants from NLNG Host Communities must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen and an indigene of any of the NLNG Host Communities.
- Provide a valid identification letter from the relevant host community and Local Government Council.
Scholarship Benefits
The NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship provides successful applicants with an annual grant of N300,000.
Required Documents
Applicants should prepare the following documents for submission:
- Completed Application Form
- Recent passport-sized photograph (white background, not older than 3 months, 450px by 450px, max 200kb)
- O-Level and UTME results
- University and JAMB Admission letters
- University student ID card
- National Population Commission-issued Birth Certificate
- Local Government Area (LGA) letter of identification
- National ID Number (NIN) slip
For applicants from Host Communities:
- Local Government Area (LGA) letter of identification
- Complete academic transcripts from the 100 level to the most recent year, signed and stamped by the university’s appropriate authority
- Community identification letter signed by a Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman or the paramount ruler/king

- Ensure that the name used in the application matches the one on all documents.
- Review uploaded documents to ensure there are no errors.
- Upload a passport photo with a white background when requested.
- Double-check the entire application to avoid mistakes.
- Visit NLNG Scholarship Application Portal and click “Apply Now” to submit your application.
- You will receive a confirmation email once your application is successfully submitted.
