Youth Investment Fund (NYIF)
In March 2024, the Federal Executive Council sanctioned the launch of the revamped NYIF with an initial capital infusion of N110 billion. This fund is designed to enhance financial accessibility for young individuals and youth-led businesses, aiming to foster national development. It seeks to generate significant employment opportunities to mitigate youth discontent, motivate out-of-school, marginalized, unemployed, and underemployed youth to engage in sustainable, income-producing projects, and facilitate their active involvement in Nigeria’s socio-economic growth through youth enterprise clusters nationwide.
Targeted at individuals aged 18 to 40, the initiative lays out a framework to support the establishment, expansion, and job creation for businesses. The fund’s goal is to empower Nigerian youth to generate at least one million jobs within 2024.
