Fully Funded Master’s Program in Intellectual Property – Africa University, WIPO, ARIPO (2025 Intake)

Applications are now open for the 2025 edition of the Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property, a specialized postgraduate program collaboratively offered by Africa University (Mutare, Zimbabwe), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO). This prestigious academic initiative is generously supported through funding from the Government of Japan.

This master’s program is designed to provide a well-rounded and in-depth understanding of intellectual property (IP) law. It combines rigorous theoretical frameworks with practical, real-world applications. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property (MIP) awarded by Africa University, on behalf of WIPO and ARIPO.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for consideration, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Must be a citizen of an African country.
  • Should possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree (Second Class Lower Division or higher) from a recognized institution in any academic discipline.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the English language, as the program is delivered entirely in English.
  • Completion of the WIPO Distance Learning Course DL-101 (Introduction to Intellectual Property) is required prior to applying.

Scholarship Coverage

A limited number of fully funded scholarships will be awarded to outstanding applicants. These scholarships are sponsored by WIPO and provide comprehensive financial support, which includes:

  • A round-trip international airfare to and from Zimbabwe.
  • Full coverage of registration and tuition fees.
  • Accommodation and meals for the entire duration of the program.
  • Health insurance coverage while enrolled in the program.
