Applications Open for the 2025 Nigeria LNG (NLNG) Prize for Literary Criticism
The Nigeria LNG (NLNG) Prize for Literary Criticism, an annual award aimed at celebrating outstanding contributions to literary criticism, is now open for submissions for the 2025 edition. Sponsored by Nigeria LNG, this prize seeks to honor the author of the best critical work in literature, with a monetary reward of USD 10,000. This year’s competition will focus on the genre of Children’s Literature.
Objective of the Award
The Nigeria LNG Prize for Literary Criticism was established to foster a culture of critical examination and in-depth analysis in Nigerian literature. The Advisory Board for the Nigeria Prize for Literature will award the prize solely on the basis of merit and excellence in critical thought and writing.
Eligibility and Submission Guidelines
To be considered for the 2025 award, applicants are required to:
- Submit Three (3) Critical Works: Each applicant must submit three literary criticism works focused on Children’s Literature.
- Complete and Submit the Application Form: The form can be downloaded from the official Nigeria Prizes website, www.thenigeriaprizes.org.
- Print and Attach Forms: After filling the form online, applicants must print and submit it alongside their entries. Detailed submission instructions can be found on the website.
- Excellence as the Sole Criterion: Submissions will be judged solely on the quality and excellence of the criticism.
Important Dates
- Closing Date: All entries must be submitted by Tuesday, April 2, 2025. Late submissions will not be entertained under any circumstances.
- Winner Announcement: The winner(s), if any, will be announced in October 2025 during a public presentation ceremony.
