Apply for Enterprise for Youth in Agriculture (Work, Learn, and Earn)

In collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, the Enterprise for Youth in Agriculture through Technology-Enabled Vegetable Production (EYiA) initiative is designed to create economic opportunities for Nigerian youth, particularly young women. This project focuses on premium vegetable farming, providing a pathway to dignified and rewarding entrepreneurship on small plots of land.

Work, Learn, and Earn – a unique opportunity to equip youth and women with skills in vegetable farming (Olericulture) through technology-driven approaches.

This application form is an essential part of the selection process. It requires accurate details about your personal information and training preferences and must be completed thoroughly for consideration.

Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Disclaimer: This program is completely free of charge. Eupepsia Place Limited and its partners will not request any form of payment from applicants to participate in the EYiA training.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Requirement
    Applicants must fall within the age range of 18 to 29 years at the time of application. While this range applies to males, females can apply up to the age of 35. Candidates outside these age brackets will not be eligible.
  • Interest in Olericulture
    Applicants must have a genuine interest in vegetable farming, whether it involves leaf-bearing or fruit-bearing crops.
  • Commitment to 12 Weeks of On-Site Training
    This program requires a 12-week (3-month) commitment to in-person training on the farm. Training cannot be conducted online, so applicants must be available to fully participate in all activities.
  • Physical and Mental Fitness
    Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to collaborate effectively with a team. Those with disabilities are encouraged to apply, provided their needs are specified in the application to allow proper accommodations. A willingness to work cohesively with others is essential, as the program focuses on team-building over individual efforts.
  • Willingness to Relocate to Awowo, Abeokuta, Ogun State
    Applicants must be ready to relocate to Kurere village, Awowo, Ewekoro LGA, Ogun State, for the duration of the training. Post-training, participants will manage three plots of hydroponic farms as a cluster, requiring continued residence within the project location.
  • No Criminal Record
    The program does not accept applicants with a criminal record. Any undisclosed record discovered later will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Respect for Program Rules and Regulations
    All participants must adhere to the guidelines and policies governing the project and its location.

  • Fully Funded Training
    Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of the Olericulture value chain and soilless farming techniques through a hands-on training program, all at no cost.
  • Free Farm Setup Kits
    Groups of 50 participants (clusters) will manage three hydroponic farm plots, complete with logistics and storage facilities. Each cluster will be registered as a company.
  • Access to Buyers
    Participants will have access to reliable offtakers who will purchase their produce during the early stages of the project. They will also learn marketing strategies to build their customer base.
  • Post-Training Support and Mentorship
    After training, participants will receive mentorship to refine their skills. Activities will include action plan presentations, performance evaluations, and guided corrections to improve proficiency.

Step 1: Application and Selection
Applicants must complete an online application process that includes a 3-minute video explaining the project. A brief assessment will ensure candidates understand the program and are ready to commit.

Step 2: Interview Preparation
Successful applicants will receive access to a short video introducing hydroponic farming and its setup for personal use.

Step 3: Training and Implementation
Participants will receive practical, hands-on training, enabling them to master soilless farming techniques and transition to co-managing farms as part of a cluster.
