The Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) Fellowship 2025 is now open for applications. The Fellowship is a unique leadership development programme designed to connect, empower, and equip the next generation of leaders from across Africa, the wider Global South, and the Global North.
This initiative is a collaboration between Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) and Common Purpose. Now in its third year, the Fellowship has already welcomed over 90 fellows worldwide, building a strong network of changemakers committed to solving pressing global challenges.
About the Fellowship
The AFC Fellowship provides a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation among emerging leaders who are passionate about creating positive change. It focuses particularly on addressing climate challenges and reducing the imbalance between the Global North and South.
Participants will engage in interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and skills development programmes that prepare them to tackle complex global problems.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should be:
- Emerging leaders with typically 5+ years of professional experience.
- Individuals with a proven commitment to positive social, economic, or environmental change.
- Professionals who can demonstrate leadership potential or capacity.
- People with a strong interest in climate issues and bridging inequalities between the Global North and South.
- Open to participants from diverse countries, sectors, and backgrounds across Africa and beyond.

Fellowship Details
- Format: Online (live Zoom sessions, with additional resources and materials available 24/7 on the learning platform).
- Cost: Fully funded by Africa Finance Corporation – no cost to participants.
- Language: English (participants must be proficient in written and spoken English).
